The Australian Certificate of Education (ACE) offers a unique academic pathway that helps students confidently conquer the world’s leading universities. Beyond that, the program develops a set of seven personal competencies designed to help students become independent learners, confident individuals, and dynamic, passionate global citizens, along with four key strengths.
The ACE programme is notable not only for its flexibility but also for its diversity of subjects. Students can freely choose courses from four main disciplines: Technology, Medicine, Business, and Arts. This diversity meets the needs of students with different interests and career aspirations from students passionate about technology and science to those wanting to develop their creativity in the arts.
Moreover, the flexibility in subject selection allows students to design a study plan tailored to their individual needs, preparing them more thoroughly for university and their future careers. This program also provides opportunities for students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are essential in a global workforce.

Graduates from Nam Uc Scotch AGS will receive the SACE, issued by the SACE Board. This is an internationally recognized certificate with global validity. It opens up numerous educational and career opportunities for students worldwide. With this certificate, students can easily apply to prestigious universities in various countries, including Australia, the USA, the UK, as well as in Europe and Asia, without facing barriers related to credential recognition.
To graduate with the Australian Certificate of Education (ACE), students must complete all required modules in high school, divided into two main stages: Stage 1 (Years 10–11) and Stage 2 (Year 12).
In Year 10, students begin with Research Practices, the first foundational subject in the Australian Certificate program, alongside the Australian National Curriculum after transitioning from Year 9. In Year 11, the program focuses on three core subjects: Mathematics, English, and Research projects, along with elective courses centered around four main streams: Engineering, Medicine, Business, Arts.
In Year 12, students continue studying subjects from the four main streams. They have to complete 5 subjects for university admission, including 3 core subjects and 2 electives:

Năng lực ngôn ngữ và văn chương được xem là năng lực đầu tiên và quan trọng từ những năm học đầu tiên cho đến bậc THPT. Nhà trường chú trọng phát triển kỹ năng đọc hiểu nhiều loại văn bản khác nhau và sử dụng ngôn ngữ trong một loạt các tình huống đa dạng, giúp học sinh có thể thích ứng và giao tiếp hiệu quả trong bối cảnh các quốc gia khác nhau. Năng lực ngôn ngữ và văn chương không chỉ là một kỹ năng của thế kỷ 21 mà còn là nền tảng cho mọi thời đại, bao gồm khả năng đọc, ghi nhớ, viết, hiểu, sáng tạo và nói. Chương trình tú tài Úc khuyến khích học sinh phát triển toàn diện các kỹ năng này, từ việc phân tích và hiểu rõ các văn bản học thuật cho đến việc sáng tác và thể hiện ý tưởng của mình một cách sáng tạo. Qua đó, học sinh không chỉ nâng cao khả năng tư duy phản biện và giao tiếp mà còn sẵn sàng đối mặt với những thách thức trong học tập và cuộc sống hàng ngày.
Kỹ năng sử dụng toán học để diễn giải thông tin một cách hiệu quả và giải quyết các vấn đề trong nhiều tình huống thực tế là kỹ năng thứ hai mà chương trình tú tài Úc – ACE nhấn mạnh. Có năng lực tính toán tốt không chỉ đơn thuần là khả năng làm việc với các con số mà còn bao gồm việc suy luận logic, tư duy ,phân tích dữ liệu và đưa ra các giải pháp sáng tạo. Chương trình khuyến khích học sinh phát triển khả năng suy nghĩ một cách hệ thống và khoa học, giúp các em trở thành những cá nhân có tư duy phản biện và khả năng giải quyết vấn đề mạnh mẽ.
Với sự phát triển nhanh chóng của thời kỳ số hóa, học sinh tại Nam Úc Scotch AGS được trang bị nhiều kỹ năng công nghệ thông tin cần thiết, bao gồm khả năng tìm kiếm, thực hiện các tác vụ trên máy tính, sử dụng phần mềm và ứng dụng, cũng như quản lý và truyền tải thông tin một cách hiệu quả. Nhờ được trang bị các kỹ năng này, học sinh có thể sử dụng công nghệ để nghiên cứu và học tập một cách hiệu quả hơn. Các em có thể tham gia vào các hoạt động giáo dục trực tuyến, kết nối với cộng đồng học tập trên toàn thế giới, và áp dụng kiến thức công nghệ vào các dự án học tập và cuộc sống hàng ngày. Innovation and creativity competencies are essential for identifying and analyzing complex problems. We guide students to think diversely, explore, and solve difficult issues creatively. This approach encourages them to seek and create breakthrough solutions with motivation.
Additionally, we encourage students to undertake independent projects to develop self-management and time management skills effectively. Students learn to plan, monitor progress, and evaluate their work, fostering a dynamic and creative learning environment. This competency helps students develop personal skills and nurtures their character to become exemplary global citizens, ready for future opportunities and challenges.
To cultivate this competency, we encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities both inside and outside the classroom, including discussions, pair work, group projects, and community initiatives. The curriculum helps them enhance their abilities to communicate, listen, and respond effectively.
Furthermore, presentations strengthen their negotiation, persuasion, and public speaking skills. Students learn to understand and adhere to community communication norms, developing a strong sense of identity and social skills. These experiences help them become individuals with unique identities and good social skills, benefiting them in academic and social interactions.
Community service competency is a vital aspect of education at Scotch AGS in South Australia. The program helps students develop compassion and social responsibility. We encourage high school students to engage in volunteer activities and individual projects, such as assisting those in need, protecting the environment, and participating in group initiatives like fundraising and creating useful models through STEM methods.
Through these experiences, students not only learn teamwork and time management but also develop leadership skills and problem-solving abilities in real-world situations. Community service competency helps them understand their roles and responsibilities to society, fostering globally conscious citizens who contribute positively to the community and the world.
Good diplomatic competency enables students to understand and respect different cultures, enhancing effective communication in international settings. Through activities such as cultural exchange visits, academic competitions, and trips to top universities, students learn to negotiate, persuade, and build strong partnerships with peers worldwide.
Moreover, diplomatic competency helps students confidently express their viewpoints while fostering mutual respect and cooperation. This preparation equips them for success in multicultural learning environments and helps them become responsible global leaders with vision.
In Year 10, students participate in project-based activities across the four mentioned areas. This program helps them shape, discover, and develop their own talents, preparing them for the university application process. In Years 11 and 12, extracurricular activities largely focus on supporting students in perfecting their applications to secure scholarships at universities in the top 1% globally.
At Nam Uc Scotch AGS, we aim not only to impart knowledge but also to nurture character—an essential factor in shaping individuals and their behavior. Therefore, the school has established a clear framework for character education to guide learning and teaching, which includes two skill sets: RADI for self-development and RAHI for guiding interactions with others.
