Nam Uc Scotch AGS aims to prepare students to be global citizens with independent thinking and self-development skills. We offer the Australian national curriculum for middle school students.
Students also study subjects required by the Vietnamese Ministry of Education to preserve Vietnamese cultural values. International students can attend Vietnamese classes to become familiar with the language.

After primary school, students continue with the full Australian curriculum for middle school. The program at Nam Uc Scotch AGS is designed to help students step out of their comfort zones and explore the world.

At Nam Uc Scotch AGS, modern learning methods focus not only on delivering knowledge but also on encouraging active student participation through hands-on activities. Participating in extracurricular activities is an essential part of the middle school education program. At Nam Uc Scotch AGS, students are encouraged to explore their interests in geography and history through field trips to museums and international academic competitions. The goal of the 6th-grade program is to develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, while encouraging curiosity and creativity, with a focus on developing information technology subjects for this age group.
In Years 7 and 8, students build on the knowledge they gained in primary school and explore subjects in greater depth. They have many opportunities to engage in extracurricular activities, including sports, performing arts, and programs that challenge and expand their knowledge. Additionally, the school encourages students to participate in community service and develop leadership skills. The learning environment builds a foundation of knowledge, focusing on both academic and social-emotional skills.
From Year 9, students face new challenges in organizing their lives and managing personal responsibilities. The curriculum emphasizes the importance of maintaining health, mental well-being, and managing personal relationships.
Additionally, students gain in-depth knowledge about real-life situations outside of the school, including social, economic and citizenship topics. They apply this knowledge to real-life situations outside of school. Students start to choose fields and careers they are interested in and select corresponding subjects.

Teachers prepare middle school subjects, projects, and group assignments. Students work together, learn from each other, and refine their analytical and synthesis skills, which helps them develop creative thinking. Teachers also encourage students to engage in classroom discussions and debates, building their leadership, collaboration, and communication skills. As a result, students become effective thinkers, analysts, and team members in a multicultural environment.
By using the STEM education approach (integrating mathematics, engineering, science, and technology), students do more than just learn theory—they get to apply their knowledge to real-life situations. Students grow significantly in both body and mind. Scotch AGS designs its learning environment with plenty of space for physical activities.
In addition to providing modern facilities for sports activities, the school also encourages students to hone their existing athletic talents. Students have opportunities to develop their skills to compete and perform at various levels. Shaping interests is an important part of the middle school program at Nam Uc Scotch AGS. Starting in Year 9, students take eight mandatory subjects according to the Australian National Curriculum, plus a subject called Career Studies. This subject helps students explore and understand different career fields, allowing them to identify personal interests and develop initial career goals.
During this stage, students can choose fields they are interested in, which helps them gain confidence as they move on to high school, university, and beyond. Discovering career interests not only helps students understand their strengths but also makes it easier for them to plan their studies and careers. The experiences and knowledge gained from career studies provide a solid foundation for students to develop and pursue their passions in the future.
From Year 6 to Year 9, students must participate in co-curricular activities. They can choose activities based on their interests from the school’s list, primarily offered as clubs, focusing on developing and honing specific skills or talents.
This program at Nam Uc Scotch AGS goes beyond imparting knowledge, skills, and exam preparation. It also aims to nurture students’ character, who they are, and how they behave. Therefore, the school has a clear framework for character education to guide learning and teaching, consisting of two sets of skills: R.A.D.I. for personal development and R.A.H.I. for interacting with others.
