
Dr. Douglas Foster
Dr. Douglas Foster, currently the Provost of Western Sydney University Vietnam and Chancellor of Scotch AGS, is a distinguished expert in management and entrepreneurship, with over 30 years of experience. His professional background includes successfully owning a chain of retail businesses and working in property development before entering academia. This practical experience informs his academic and research activities. With deep knowledge of higher education in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, Dr. Foster has significantly contributed to the sector. As Vice Dean of the International School of Business at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, he led the creation of international programs in partnership with institutions such as Western Sydney University and the University of Quebec Montreal. His research focuses on financial data and firm performance in small and medium-sized enterprises. Over ten years, he has gathered data from 15 developing Asian countries, offering valuable insights into enterprise performance. Dr. Foster is deeply committed to advancing education in Vietnam, with a strong focus on developing students’ skills to succeed in a globalized world. His efforts continue to shape an academic environment that supports student growth and success.
Dr. Kelly Sharp
Dr. Kelly Sharp is Chair of Scotch AGS Academic Committee. Kelly has held various roles as an executive in the education sector across a range of school areas, including Gifted and Special Education, Pastoral Care, International Student Coordination and most recently, as a Director of Operation – Scotch International Education. Kelly has experience in both day and boarding school settings, academic administration, strategic planning, policy development and implementation and a particular interest in transnational education. Kelly has been awarded Masters and Doctoral degrees in Education and her research has been published and presented in national and international contexts. She holds adjunct academic status at Flinders University where she has been involved in pre-service teacher education programs and research projects and lectures in the Western Sydney University - Vietnam Masters in Education Degree. Recently, Kelly has been named on the 2022 Business Women in Education – Women to Watch list. Kelly now works in a consultancy role for Scotch International Education, bringing educational consultancy and project management expertise to a diverse range of education related projects, including the establishment of Scotch College Australia Grammar School (Nam Uc Scotch AGS) in Vietnam.
Dr. Hue Tran
Dr. Hue Tran is a member of the Academic Committee of Scotch AGS. She holds a Master Degree in English Language from Hanoi University and a Doctoral Degree in Education from the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. She completed a Fulbright Vietnamese Scholar Program in 2018-2019, followed by a United Board Fellow Program in 2022-2023. Dr Hue has extensive experience in the fields of teaching, curriculum development, educational research, promotion of international collaboration in education, educational quality assurance. She has directed and managed a wide range of educational projects and had several publications in well-known scientific journals. In summary, Dr Hue’s career has spanned senior level higher education leadership roles. She is passionate about teaching and teacher education and strives towards building and creating happy, effective learning environments that can maximize the potential of all students, teachers, and staff.
Dr. Pham Hong Hoa
Dr. Hoa Pham is currently a member of Scotch AGS's Academic Committee. Dr. Hoa has been awarded Masters and Doctoral degrees in Business Management at Victoria University, Australia. She has held various roles as an executive in the multinational companies and educational sector across a range of universities, including International University – Vietnam National University (IU-VNU), RMIT International Vietnam, and UEH-International School of Business (UEH-ISB). Having served as Associate Dean and Discipline Lead, Hoa has experience in international academic collaboration, project leadership, curriculum design, subject and program development. Hoa is passionate with teaching and is an education advocate who believes that education will change young people’s life.
Dr. Christopher Poole-Johnson
Dr Christopher Poole-Johnson is a Deputy Principal at Nam Uc Scotch AGS. He has extensive experience and qualifications in international education, teaching, research, and administration. He holds a BA Hons, a Grad Dip, MA, CELTA and a PhD from the University of Western Australia and Curtin University WA. He has a passion for international cross-cultural education and a diverse background in teaching, research, and administration across various disciplines and countries. He started his teaching career as a lecturer in Marketing and Consumer Behaviour as Head of Program for a Curtin University Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Indonesia. He later moved to Vietnam, where he joined the Saigon International College (SIC), HCMC as the Head of Program ACE, overseeing the delivery of the Australian Certificate of Education. Subsequently, he taught Business Communications for Western Sydney University through the International School of Business at the University of Economics, Vietnam.
Ms. Le Thi Minh Kim
Ms. Lê Thị Minh Kim began her teaching career in 2006 as a Literature teacher at Thai Binh Duong Primary, Secondary, and High School. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Literary Theory. Ms. Kim believes that the core role and mission of education is to create the best possible conditions for students to develop a love of learning, actively engage in dialogue, and grow according to their potential. Throughout her 17-year career, she has held several key positions, including Literature Teacher, Deputy Principal, and Principal, accumulating extensive experience in academic leadership, school management, and student counseling.
