“We hope that this is a good opportunity for students to showcase and challenge their own abilities when competing with international math talents.”
That was the message from Dr. Douglas Foster, Chancellor of the Scotch AGS leadership team, sharing in the opening ceremony of the 2023 Australian Mathematics Competition.
The Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) is one of the major international mathematics competitions organized by the Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT). After more than 45 years of organization, the competition has attracted more than 20 million candidates (grades 3–12) from 60 countries and territories to compete. This is the first year that Edufly has received authorization from the Australian Mathematics Trust to organize this competition in Vietnam.
This year, AMC attracted more than 1,000 participants across Vietnam. In the southern region, Scotch AGS welcomed more than 500 contestants from Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces.
The AMC opening ceremony also welcomed Mr. Le Thanh Hai, Deputy Head of Training of Nha Be district; Dr. Do Viet Tuan, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Australian Mathematics Competition in Vietnam; and Dr. Thu Phan, Executive Principal of Scotch AGS School.
